Academic Magnet's Liam Christensen (Mt. Pleasant TC) has chosen Stanford as his college choice for August 2017, Mt. Pleasant Track Club coach Michael Flournoy told scrunners late Sunday night.
Flournoy told scrunners his decision came between Harvard, University of North Carolina and Stanford.
Spring Valley alumna and state record holder Kate Niehaus attended Stanford.

Academic Magnet's Liam Christensen won the Penn Relays javelin today with a throw of 219 feet, two inches. The junior's throw is the fifth best ever of the meet.

Liam Christensen of Academic Magnet goes to a school with no track in a state that does not throw the javelin in high school. So it was somewhat surprising to see him win the U.S. trials at 224-3 - a personal best by more than 20 feet.
